No Man is untouched by sin as, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Ro.3:32). No human action, conduct or righteousness are as good as they should be in God’s sight. No one can earn God’s forgiveness and favor without His grace. No one can go out of his darkness without God’s light. No one can get rid of his depravity and corruption without God’s power and unless he is born from above. No purity, no sanctification, no justification, no redemption and no salvation may occur without God’s love, mercy and His supernatural act through His only begotten Son’s cross. He is the only one who can move us from the pain of this earth to paradise, “for in Him we live and move and have our being…” (Acts 17:28) When Man is drowned in his sinful nature and is dead in his sins, God made him alive with Christ, “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me…” (gal.2:20)..
The powers of the principles and authorities of the world were disarmed. The powers of evil were nailed on the cross. As the powers of good recorded triumph on the same cross.
To be in Jesus’ road of the cross, Man is warned and asked “not to conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of ‘his’ mind” (Ro. 12:2) We are admitted to be conformed to His image in our present life as we shall be like Him in holiness to deserve seeing Him in our future life. Man is to crucify his old nature on Jesus’ cross, be buried and risen with Him. Through experiencing and participating in the suffering of Jesus, the power of resurrection will be alive in the life of the Christian. We die and are risen with Jesus, because we are in Him and He is in us. And we are one with Him. We rise in Jesus by the virtue of this union. “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing…” (Jh.15:5)
On the cross Jesus Christ shed His innocent precious blood as a sacrifice and ransom to free Mankind from enslavement to sin ; consequently God reconciled Man to Himself through His Son, Man’s substitute who carried the curse of the Law.
Life for the faithful believer does not end at death, it continues as life of fellowship with God, “For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” ( Phil. 1:2)
The crucifixion and the resurrection of Jesus Christ form the important fundamental and the cornerstone of the Christian faith, belief and living. The cross and the empty tomb put an end to the corruptible life. The earthly man will raise to the spiritual glory. This is the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Let’s exhibit Jesus Christ crucified on the victory cross deeply in our faith and behavior.
Let’s proclaim the salvation cross and the atonement of Jesus through our new desires and noble actions.
Let’s lift Him up in our actuality and newness of life, not only in our wonderful discourse concerning His great deeds.
Let’s manifest the glorious resurrection which brings us unto joy and glory as children of God.
Let’s show that the marvelous resurrection is alive in our hearts and shines in our spirits.
Jesus Christ the “firstborn from the dead” (Col. 1:18) demonstrated; “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die.” (Jh. 11:25)
Lord, teach us to say with Paul, “for I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified” (1Cor. 2:2) and “I may know Him and the power of His resurrection…” (Phil. 3:10)
“Because He lives we shall live also” Blessed is the cross of victory and blessed is the glorious resurrection. Amen
